What kind of once-off jobs do we do? Pretty much anything in our scope — repairs, installations, plumbing, electrical, IT support, softwash, silicone resealing, appliance installations and more. If you're not sure whether we cover it, just ask. The worst we can say is no.

Klusjes specialises in hands-on household maintenance and upkeep. For registered electrician COC work, structural repairs, geyser replacements, roof work or anything requiring a specialist — we tell you straight and point you to the right person. Over time we build relationships with trusted professionals so when you need one, you get a referral you can actually rely on — not a random number from Google.

Questions You're Probably Thinking

We'd rather answer them here than have you wonder.

All plans include 2 scheduled visits per year — roughly 6 months apart. Each visit combines a thorough home inspection with hands-on maintenance and fixes within your plan's scope, plus photo documentation before and after every job. Anything found during inspection that's outside scope gets reported to you with a recommendation.
Your plan includes free callouts for when things come up between scheduled visits — 1 for Essential, 2 for Comfort, 3 for Bakgat per year. Message us on WhatsApp and we respond within your plan's priority window: 72 hours for Essential, 48 hours for Comfort, same-day for Bakgat. Callouts are scheduled in business hours based on availability. Both callouts can be combined into one longer visit, but that uses your full annual allocation. Additional callouts beyond your plan are available at a discounted subscriber rate — just ask.
Comfort and Bakgat plans include a parts budget — R1,000/year (R500 per visit) for Comfort, R1,500/year (R750 per visit) for Bakgat. This covers small consumables that genuinely wear out: door and window hinges, worn locks, tap valves, tap filters, silicone for resealing, screws, bolts and similar items. Applied at Francois's discretion for what actually needs replacing. It's not a subsidy for major replacements — if your geyser needs replacing, that's a separate conversation with a quote.
We're upfront about scope. Klusjes doesn't cover: geyser repairs or replacements, roof repairs or waterproofing, work requiring a registered electrician's COC, structural or building work, pest control, garden maintenance, pool maintenance, appliance repairs (installations are fine), or emergency after-hours callouts. When something falls outside our scope, we tell you straight — and where possible point you to a trusted specialist from our network. If you're a Klusjes client, you're not left to figure it out on your own.
All Klusjes plans are a 12-month membership. This protects both you and us — you're guaranteed your rate and your scheduled visits for the full year, and we can plan our schedule and your home's maintenance properly. If you genuinely need to exit before 12 months, we handle it fairly: any services already delivered (visits, callouts, softwash) are simply settled at a standard once-off rate, and you're free to go. No penalties, no chasing — just a fair settlement. After your first 12 months, your membership renews annually with 30 days notice to cancel before the renewal date.
Klusjes is founded and led by Francois van Dyk — an Edgemead resident and active member of the Edgemead Neighbourhood Watch. In the early days Francois does the work himself. As Klusjes grows, every technician who joins the team is personally hand-picked, vetted and trained by Francois — selected for character and craftsmanship, and held to exactly the same standard. Wherever possible you'll have a dedicated technician who gets to know your home, rather than a different person each visit. And every job is documented with before-and-after photos so you always know exactly what was done in your home.
Most clients prefer to be home for the first visit to walk through priorities together. After that, many give us access to work independently — everything is documented with photos and you're told when it's done. It's entirely your comfort level, and we'll never push for access you're not comfortable with.
